Lifted Privacy Policy

Lifted is a race timer, sailing tracker, and race replay app for Apple Watch and iPhone. The short version: we run no servers, require no account, and use no analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind. Your races stay on your devices. The only data that ever leaves them is your position, sent to Apple Weather so the app can show you the wind.
What the app uses, and where it goes
Location
Lifted uses precise GPS while you use the app (never in the background) to show speed over ground, course over ground, VMG, and distance to the start line. Location is used in three ways:
- On your watch or iPhone, to drive the live race dashboard. These readings are held in memory and cleared when the race ends.
- In your saved race, as the GPS route attached to each workout in Apple Health (see Health & Fitness below). This stays on your device, under your control.
- In weather requests. To fetch the wind, the app sends your coordinates to Apple Weather (WeatherKit) — the only weather provider the app uses. The watch and iPhone request current wind during a race; the iPhone may also request past wind for the time and place of an older race, to fill in wind for races recorded without it. Each request contains your coordinates and — as with any internet request — your IP address. It contains no name, account, or device identifier, because the app has none. We never receive or store your location ourselves; the request goes directly from your device to Apple. See "Third-party services" for Apple's policies.
Health & Fitness
Each race is saved to Apple Health as a Sailing workout (its duration, GPS route, and the wind recorded during the race) so it appears in the Fitness app with a map. With your permission, the iPhone app reads these Sailing workouts back from Apple Health to show your race history and replays — that reading happens entirely on your device. Lifted does not read any other Health data, and it does not record heart rate or other biometrics.
Your Health data never leaves your device through Lifted. We never receive it, and we never use health or fitness data — or any other data — for advertising, marketing, or data mining, and we never share or sell it to third parties for advertising, marketing, data mining, or any other purpose.
Purchases
Lifted offers an annual subscription. Payment is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store: we never see your payment details, and we operate no server that records your purchases. You can manage or cancel the subscription in your App Store account settings. Apple's handling of your purchase is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Settings
A handful of preferences — such as your countdown duration, chosen wind engine, display options, and the last screen you used — are stored locally on the device. Deleting the app deletes them.
What we don't do
- No accounts, sign-in, email, or contact information
- No analytics, crash-reporting, or advertising SDKs
- No tracking across apps or websites, no fingerprinting
- No selling or sharing of data — nothing is collected to sell
- No server-side storage of anything, because we operate no servers

These are the only external services the app communicates with.
Retention and deletion
We retain nothing — there is no account and no server, so there is nothing for us to delete. Data you control directly:
- Saved races: delete them in the Apple Health app (Health data is managed by you and Apple, not by us).
- Settings: delete the app from your devices.
- Weather requests: processed transiently by the providers above to answer the request, per their policies.

Children
Lifted is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone — children included.
Changes to this policy
If the app's data practices change (for example, if a future version adds race syncing), this policy will be updated first and the new version posted at sailmasterpro.vercel.app/privacy with a new effective date before the change ships.
