Apple Watch + iPhone

Time the start.
Call the shifts.

Lifted is a race-start timer and tactical instrument for sailboat racing. Start, sync and ping from the Action button, read the shifts as they happen — then take the whole race apart afterwards, and share it with one link.

On the water

From the warning signal to the finish.

Start on the button

A 1–15 minute countdown you start, sync and stop with presses of the Action button. Your eyes stay on the line, not the screen — and nothing depends on hitting a touch target with wet hands.

Ping the line

Ping the pin and the committee boat, then watch your live distance to the line as you set up for the gun.

Instruments, not an app

Course and speed over ground in big numerals, leg-aware VMG, and a rolling deviation ribbon — laid out like a proper instrument, readable at arm's length in spray.

It works out the wind

No masthead gear required. Lifted asks nine forecast models for the wind — noting where they disagree — then refines true wind direction from how you actually sail, and calls each lift and header as it happens. Tell it your boat's tacking angle if you like; it learns the real one within a few tacks regardless.

It knows when to say nothing

Lift and header calls appear only where they mean something: hard on the wind, or downwind after a clean gybe. On a reach there is no such thing as a header, so Lifted doesn't invent one — the face quietly drops back to plain numbers until a call can honestly be made.

Every Apple Watch

The Action button drives it on Ultra. On every other model the same presses live on an on-screen control, with an optional Double Tap binding — the whole app works on any Apple Watch.

Every race in Apple Health

Each race is saved to Apple Health as a Sailing workout with its GPS route and the wind it recorded — yours, on your device, in the app you already use.

Afterwards

Then take it apart on the phone.

Every saved race replays on your iPhone: the track coloured by speed, VMG or shift, an animated boat you scrub along it, and course, speed and wind readouts with charts that follow your thumb — every lift and header re-derived over the whole race, with the benefit of hindsight.

Older races without recorded wind get it filled in from weather history. And if the watch stays home, the iPhone runs a race entirely on its own — the same countdown, line pings and instruments, phone-sized, with the countdown on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island.

Together

One link carries the race.

Sign in once and every race backs itself up to your private Lifted account — the same replay waits on the web. And a race in your account is a race you can pass on.

Share it with a link

Flip a race to shared and copy the link. It unfurls with the real course, coloured by speed, and opens as the full replay in any browser — a six-digit email code is the only gate. You see who has opened it, and they can save it to a list of their own.

Bring the crew

Add the people who sailed with you. Each gets one email, and the race is theirs too — waiting in their own account, no forwarding required.

Gather the regatta

Create an event and paste one link into the group chat. Every sailor attaches their own races, and the whole regatta reads as one page — each race shared by the sailor who sailed it.

See you on the line.

Lifted is on the App Store — one annual subscription covers the watch and the phone.
